George Minter was a cabinet maker based in Soho, who designed the 'reclining chair' patents; he was based at 26 Princes Street, London in 1829.
Stamped in three places ‘G Minter, 33 Gerard St. Soho, W R Patent. No 871
It is also noted in the Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840’ that Charles Darwin was reputed to own one of Minter’s chairs

Condition:
The items wood has been waxed and is in superb condition.
No tears to fabric some minor wear to edges of arm rests to be expected but these are all secure.
Webbing is all secure and solid
Chair is very comfortable and springs are all in very good order.
